                 Synthacer® / Syntricer® Bone Void Filler
Synthacer®/Syntricer®Cylinders are o ered with di er- ent diameters and a standard length of 25 mm (15 mm for the smaller ones, respec vely). The ceramic cylin- der-implants represent custom-made bone void  llers for donor defects corresponding precisely to diamond coated instruments (SDI®/Diamond TwInSTM) used for joint reconstruc ons. The cylinders are press- t insert- ed. They arrest bleeding immediately and reconstruct the cancellous framework in a physiological manner.
Synthacer®/Syntricer®Cylinders are used as a solid im- plant for press- t inser on and as bone void  ller to herme cally close defects with the ceramic cover, i.e. towards the musculature in the iliac crest defects to avoid bleeding or loss of marrow or stem cells. A Syn- thacer®/Syntricer® Cylinder with a closed surface on one side can be used in the same way. In both cases, the wet grinding diamond (SDI®/Diamond TwInSTM) tool provides a precise bone defect for a  ght press- t clo- sure.
Contraindica ons, Precau ons and Warnings
Synthacer®/Syntricer® shall not be applied in cases of osteomyeli s, non-vascularized bone defects or atro- phic non-unions, even when combined with an osteo- synthesis. As a non-vascularized implant it is not pro- tected against bacterial coloniza on and should not be used when focal infec ons are suspected.
Synthacer®/Syntricer® shall not be applied in the case of defects open to the ar cular joint space or in the ac ve growth plate. Non-stabilized non-unions and amphi- arthroses are considered as contraindica ons for any ceramic material.
The material proper es of a ceramic such as Synthac- er®/Syntricer®, especially its bri leness, should there- fore be taken into considera on. Consequently Syn- thacer®/Syntricer® should never be exposed to shear, bending and tension forces or even high compressive forces or to rela ve mo on. Micro-mo on or rela ve movements of parts of the implants against each other
